What does BASE Camp’s Teen Board do? We play games. We watch movies. We have fun hanging out with kids.
Being a member of the Teen Board is being a friend to our BASE Camp patients and their siblings. It’s as simple as that.
Our Teen Board is invited to attend all BASE Camp age-appropriate functions. Like our adult volunteers, they’re encouraged to assist with BASE Camp events and programs. But unlike our supervising adult volunteers, we encourage them to have fun like any kid would, too.
You’re not required to attend every BASE Camp event, but you’re always invited to join in.
We at BASE Camp believe it’s important for kids to have peers and role models to spend their time with. That’s why our Teen Board is such a special volunteering program.
The Teen Board holds its own meetings at the monthly BASE Camp overnight camps, where we discuss ways to communicate with teens about our programs and encourage them to participate in activities and events with us.

Can high school students earn service hours at BASE Camp for Florida Bright Futures?
Absolutely! As a non-profit organization, BASE Camp qualifies as an opportunity to earn service hours for the Florida Bright Futures. High school students interested in receiving service hours for their work at BASE Camp should provide documentation from their school for a BASE Camp representative to sign after completing their hours. Email us for more details.
